Only if it’s necessary

I avoid confrontation. But because of my job as a journalist, for a long time I had to confront people and face pressures of all kinds because it was necessary. I think my duty was to face them, above all when it was defending the facts, the truth. This was necessary because if not you would lost your self-respect, the respect of your sources and the respect of your readers. And sometimes you could, with a lot of time, earn the respect of your best direct sincere civilized and intelligent opponents. But is hard, very hard. I lost my health in the process because I had to work in a very difficult times with a very difficult topics. This is why I don’t like to talk about direct confrontation any more.
