Lost writing

I have set an alarm clock, an alarm in my cell phone, an alarm in my computer, but is useless. When I have a good idea and I’m writing there is no way to keep track on time. I have to go shopping…Well, it can wait till tomorrow. It is time to cook… This is more problematic, there is people waiting for me to finish. Fortunately they know about my addiction to my keyboard. They know I get lost between my imagination and my fingertips, so they are acting as my last alarm. A human one.  The most effective. The only one would work.

The problem is when I’m alone. Then I write for hours without caring about feed myself or even drink, if I have something interesting in mind. I feel I can survive as a spirit in the world created by my imagination if I’m writing something creative, or get lost after the long time invested in investigation and documentation to write a real life story. Only when I finish I feel the hunger, the thirst and I can say I’m so tired I wouldn’t  move a muscle for a while. Well, I can still use my eyes to look at the screen and wonder if I really finished my writing for today. But what can I say about this to writers? I guess is the same for all of us.
