What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to? What would have to happen to make you comfortable taking it?

Donate a kidney or a piece of my liver or a bone marrow to a person who need it to survive. I have watched some TV programs with interviews to persons who did it for family members in the Clinic of my University, the University of Navarre, and I admire them a lot. It was inspiring for me and I would like to follow their example. I would like to do it but I’m possibly not be able because when I was a child I had hepatitis and they said that this condition makes me unable to donate even blood. But I would take that risk if I could save a life and the doctors would allow me to do it. I would definitely do it if there is someone in my family ill needing a transplant. But I think I also would register in a bank of bone marrow donors like the Spanish Bone Marrow Donors Registry by the great tenor José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation, that is doing a lot to provide transplants to patients who doesn’t have compatible donors in their families.

In a more selfish way I would take the risk to fly without motor (with a good instructor of course), if I would have the money and the time to do it just for fun. To fly freely and to dive are in my dreams from ever. Never fulfilled. I’m getting old and still don’t have the money and the opportunity and I’m afraid this risky desires will stay where they are, in my dreams. Maybe is better. That way I can fantasize about how great it is and read about the experiences of people who do it.
