Tell us about times in which you linger — when you don’t want an event, or a day to end. What is it you love about these times? Why do you wish you could linger forever?
A good conversation with a close friend, an evening reading a good book… But above all, a walk in a deserted beach alone lost in my thoughts, enjoying the light and the colours of the sunset, feeling the marine breeze in my face, listening at the sound of the waves and the cries of the seagulls, breathing the fresh air with its taste to saltpetre, smelling to sand and sea. I’m living inland but i need the sea. Both Mom and Dad come from sea port towns. I think I have the sea in my blood. I experience a sense of freedom and peace when I see the sea in front of me, open, powerful, immense. Helps me think about the essential truths. In the greatness of God and nature, and my littleness. In the real importance of the problems that beset me, sometimes no so big as I imagine. Helps me think about how lucky I am to be alive in this world despite its troubles. I sure should go more often to see the sea, and linger walking at the beach, for my own good.
Daily Prompt: Linger.
