“Perhaps when we find ourselves wanting everything, it is because we are dangerously close to wanting nothing.” — Sylvia Plath
Which do you find more dangerous: wanting nothing, or wanting everything?
Extremes are never good. It’s good to want something. But all or nothing?
I guess that those who want everything, will find soon frustration, because their task is impossible and greed is bitter.
But without people who want to do great things humanity would not progress. History is full of examples.
Those who want nothing, unless it is because they already have everything they need, are in a dangerously passive mood. Maybe deeply depressed, unable to have wishes. And that’s not good for them and for others.
