No placebo for the hungry

If you could create a painless, inexpensive cure for a single ailment, what would you cure and why?

It would be cruel to use a placebo to cure what I want to eradicate which is malnutrition and all the diseases related with hunger and lack of fresh drinkable water. The dictionary says that a placebo is a usually pharmacologically inert preparation prescribed more for the mental relief of the patient than for its actual effect on a disorder. A deceit.
What the people need is real food and water. A more reasonable distribution of the available resources. There are places in the developed countries where they throw away great amounts of food because of production surplus. At a less scale simply because some people buy more than they need. And at the same time other people near them spend the day are looking for food in the trash cans. And what about the undeveloped countries where the famines are constant? So, not placebos, but food for the hungry wherever they are.

Placebo Effect.
