Lullaby in War

by | Feb 1, 2024 | Love, Poetry

I’m dying to meet you
forbidden dawn
while I crawl
dodging the scythe

I’m dying to caress you
light of my life
and see you open your new eyes
While mine are closing

I’m dying to kiss your forehead
creature of my insides,
and sing you a lullaby
to silence the rumbles that terrify you

I’m dying to get to you,
hidden treasure
and dream by your side
About the peace we don’t have

I’m dying to see you
in the arms of my beloved
but I can’t escape my destiny
so I sadly die.
