Traffic

by | Nov 12, 2014 | daily prompt

Today you can write about anything, in whatever genre or form, but your post must include a speeding car, a phone call, and a crisp, bright morning. (Wildcard: you can swap any of the above for a good joke.)

I went out today with my camera to take some pictures for the challenge Photography 101. It was a crisp, bright morning, with a perfect light to catch images of nature.

Since I can’t drive, I decided to go to a park near my home to take shots of trees and flowers. To arrive to the park you have to cross a busy road. I was waiting for the traffic lights to turn green for the pedestrians when I noticed a woman walking from the opposite side, that had picked up a phone call and was distracted.

She began to cross without noticing the red lights, in the middle of the traffic. A speeding car almost ran over her. We were all screaming to warn her. She stopped in the last second. Just in time to save her life. What a fright!

There’s a common theme today on the subject of phones and paying attention. Good short.
