There’s nothing you won’t do for money?

Rigoletto:

Cortigiani, vil razza dannata,
per qual prezzo vendeste il mio bene?
A voi nulla per l’oro sconviene?

Courtiers, vile, damnable rabble,
how much were you paid for my treasure?
There’s nothing you won’t do for money?

Corrupt politicians, there’s nothing you won’t do for money? Each day the news reveal a brand new scandal: illegal enrichment, millions in obscure transactions, money sheltered in tax havens. And we, the common people struggling with high taxes, high prices, high rates of unemployment, poverty, social insecurity instead of social security.

That’s not fair. With all that millions unlawfully accumulated and spent in yourselves, how many problems would be solved for common, honest, struggling people?. But no. You have to take advantage of each moment in power to get richer and richer. No matter how. No matter the injustices. The only thing that matters is that your dirty business get unnoticed. Don’t get caught.

Yes. You will do anything for money. You already proved it. We don’t mean anything to you. Well, yes, we mean a lot once every four years. We are a vote, so if you succeed lying to us maybe we will give you four more years to continue your disgusting game and get richer and richer. Meanwhile you forget about us and our problems, because you don’t have our problems. You live in another level. You belong to another class. Even if you call yourselves socialists or whatever you call yourselves. You’ll continue to get richer and richer if you don´t get caught, and we will still wondering where all the money we pay in taxes disappear.

Daily Prompt: Can’t Drive 55.
