If you were one part human, two parts something else — another animal, a plant, an inanimate object — what would the other two parts be?
I’m happy being completely human. I’m too busy trying to be a good human being. I can’t imagine being only a third part human and two parts something else, let’s say an animal or a plant. The result would be a monster and I don’t want to become a monster, like a centaur with wings. Maybe great for the ancient Greek’s mythology but very inconvenient for the modern ages. Besides, which part should we keep? The brain, of course. Which parts should we discard? Ah! not so easy to decide. Right? I’d only would mix myself with an angel. This way I would be in Heaven and close to God. But all this is a useless fantasy.
OK, let’s play a little with fantasy. Maybe I would choose to be one-third Elf and one-third Hobbit. This way I would be able to know the wonders of fantastic worlds, learn to sing beautiful songs and live in harmony with the nature. Or maybe one-third Elf and one-third Wizard to be incredibly wise and have superpowers.
But even Tolkien, the creator of the universe of elves hobbits, wizards, dwarves, ents, says in The Lord of the Rings that the time of humans has come. So maybe would be wiser to stay 100% human.
“Maybe great for the ancient Greek’s mythology but very inconvenient for the modern ages. ” Imagine having to ride a train or car with those huge wings! 😀
…or trying to drive a car or use a smartphone with those hooves
