Object Lesson

by | Jul 18, 2014 | daily prompt

Sherlock Holmes had his pipe. Dorothy had her red shoes. Batman had his Batmobile. If we asked your friends what object they most immediately associate with you, what would they answer?

Unfortunately a trolley walker. I can’t go anywhere without it. I have a problem with my balance and I need it to don’t fall down when I go out. I hope some day the doctors will find a solution to my problem and people will associate me to another object. Actually I’m feeling better lately, and I have some hope.

Other than the walker and my flat shoes I’m known for being always near to a computer or an iPad, anything that allows me to go on line and check the news or my mail, write, blog and work.

People who knows me can associate me to a medal of Our Lady of Carmel that I always wear that I inherited from my father.

More than an object I think that people can associate me to a color: blue. I love blue and I have a lot of blue things: clothes and other objects.

Object Lesson.

I suffer from Menière (balance problem caused by the inner ear) for some years. Luckily not all the time, it comes and goes. I generally suffer when under stress. I have to steady myself by holding onto an object sometimes not to lose my balance. I do not have a trolley walker – yet – but one day who knows? I have tablets, but not all the time. I hope you manage overcome your problem one day.

My mom suffered from Meniere. It’s terrible. I’m so sorry about you. I hope you’ll get better with time. My mom did. My problem is different. It’s a brain problem. But as I said, lately I’m feeling much better with a new medication and I have hope I’ll be able to park definetely my trolley. Thank you for your concern.
