Betrayal and violence

Remember the seven cardinal sins? You’re given the serious task of adding a new one to the list — another trait or behavior you find particularly unacceptable, for whatever reason. What’s sin

Betrayal and violence. But I guess they are already included as ingredients of other cardinal sins like wrath, pride, envy, or greed.
There is no need to explain why they are so bad. Lies make impossible a relationship of elemental trust among people. And betrayal is the worst. It inflicts deep wound in the soul so difficult to heal.
What to say about violence? It’s an evil in itself. Isn’t enough seeing what’s happening around the Globe? Violence calls violence, and so the chain of violent deaths and wounds never ends. It’s awfully easy to start a violent conflict and is painfully difficult to stop it. And what about the violence hidden in our cities, our neighbourhoods? It’s like a cancer in the society.
I’m not a moralist but I think that, yes, betrayal and violence must figure among the worst sins.

The Eighth Sin.
