As a kid, were you happy or anxious about going back to school? Now that you’re older, how has your attitude toward the end of the summer evolved?
August blues is what we have suffered over here from day one. Summer skipped our city. We had Autumn in August. The weather has been awful. Rain, cold temperatures (55 to 64)… Most days we have had to go out with sweater, raincoat and umbrella, and leave the summer clothes in the closet waiting for better days. Even the trees are behaving as if Autumn had arrived. Just this week, finally we are enjoying some sunny and hot days (69 to 80). And now the prompt comes to remind me that August is almost over. Thank you. Back to the blues.
I’m used to the crazy changes in the weather in my city and I thought that they won’t affect my mood any more, but this year I was surprised to find how tired I was of the cold and the overcast.
Now I’m enjoying these few good days we have, trying to heat my bones and absorb the light that we lacked till now.
When I was a kid I didn’t like to go back to school after summer. I remember school as a dark and cold place full of people who didn’t understand me and where i had to do things I didn’t like. Of course I preferred summer vacations when I could play with my brother, my sisters and my friends freely all the time in places full of light and laughter
