Call for help

Today, write a post about the topic of your choice — using only one-syllable words
I feel I can’t do this. I don’t have the skills. But I’ll try:

A friend of mine calls me to tell me he got lost in his way back home. His car ran out of gas in a dark road and it rains. No soul.

There is an old barn. But when he gets near, he sees a thug at the door with a gun, who waits for him to rob him or worst. So he turns and runs back to his car, locks the doors and calls 9-1-1.

I call too, and go out to get my car and go pick up my friend.

He calls me one more time.

It’s too late. “The thug comes!” – he says.- “I’m out of the car. I run for my life”.

I hear screams and shots. “Jim? – I call for him – “Are you there?… Jim?”….

Did the thug shoot? Did he kill my friend? Were there the good guys? No way to know it.

I’m near the scene. Now I can see the blue and red lights. In a sec I will find out if the help came in time or not.

“Jim?”…

One at a Time.
