69_146During my first year in college I signed for a hike to the Pyrenees, to climb a mountain called Castle Acher with students of biology and geology. It was my first outing to the mountain after an operation I suffered in my right leg and foot. I was excited because I love the nature and I had had to spend several years without hiking because of the problems I had with my leg.
I didn’t reckoned that the mountain we were going to climb was so difficult for a girl untrained like me. But I was stubborn and I take advantage of the multiple stops the students made with their teachers to observe plants, animals and rock formations like folds or stratum. I remember that I began the climb with the first group and I reached the top with the last group. But I did it!.
Not all the students reached the top of the mountain, many stayed in a shelter at mid way. I was proud of my achievement.

When we were at the top of the mountain, we saw the fog coming , and one of the expert climbers who were with us, said that we had to descend running in straight line down to avoid get lost in the fog. He and another expert had to help another girl who had problems. He explained to me what to do. So that day I learnt to descent a mountain jumping fast.
I ended exhausted but happy, because I overcame my health problems, I reached my goal, and learned a lot of things about nature and the mountain.
