Is it possible to be too honest, or is honesty always the best policy?

Over here, we just have come out from an intense electoral campaign. New emergent parties from the left have changed the electoral map. No one has enough majority to rule in most of the regions and big cities, so they are trying to reach pacts. The situation is interesting because we are in times of change, but I’m really fed up of the politicians’ lies we are hearing these days. There are no other topics in the news. Only the well-known faces making promises that I’m sure they are not going to fulfil. I have seen too much during my career as a reporter. I don’t trust anybody in politics. They have lied at my face too many times. I think that the decline of the traditional parties is consequence of the corruption and the many lies their politicians have said when they felt safe and comfortable in their posts. People who seek power, in politics or any other fields, don’t hesitate to resort to lying and deceive. I’m tired of people trying to manipulate me. I’m fed up of lies.
